One Life: No Regrets (Patrick Stark’s documentary)

My friend Alex Lee-Behan recently informed me about a campaign for Patrick Stark’s “One Life: No Regrets” documentary, and the film-maker is hoping to get the attention of world-famous group U2. The band will have a concert on October 28th and Stark is hoping to get on stage with them as part of the documentary (for the ending, if I’m not mistaken). From the press release:

On October 27, at the Terry Fox Memorial at B.C. Place Stadium, Stark will create his own impromptu stage and sing his request to U2 – by performing 4 U2 songs, backed by a full band. “This isn’t like American Idol, where I expect a miraculous singing career to supplement my film work. I’m not even a singer. The point of this is to experience, create a memorable moment on film and have some fun in the process.”

Stark is more than willing to share the stage and is looking for hundreds to join him in singing the songs – Bad, Until The End of the World, Love is Blindness, and One. Stark believes, “If we manage to conjure up an amazing crowd, we have a better shot at getting the band’s attention and creating a magical scene for the film.”

Cameras will roll, rain or shine, on Tuesday October 27th at 2pm at the Terry Fox memorial at BC Place at 2pm.

I’m not sure if I’ll be able to be there to cover the sing-along but I’m sure it’ll be a fun event.

Thank you for the coverage Raul! I love you for it!!

Over 200 people turned out to sing with Patrick and although he made the papers and radio stations and even got as far as the U2 production studio inside BC Place… he did not join U2 last night.

Regardless.. it was an inspiring journey
