On the benefits of a good night sleep
Having switched my sleeping patterns around from being a late-night owl to waking up early, I hadn’t realized exactly what had made the shift successful. The truth is, after a few tests, I think I now know exactly what makes my body feel like I can do so much work during the day even if I’ve been waking up at 5:00am. I go to bed early. On a good night I’m in bed by 10pm, at the latest 10.30pm.
Except, of course, when I’m overwhelmed with work, thus having to go to bed later. But I have also discovered another secret to having a fantastic night of sleep. I use earplugs. Yes, ladies and gentlemen. I have finally discovered that, on the nights that I use earplugs, my sleep is much more profound and I wake up much more rested. For example, last night I went to bed at 10.30pm and I’m awake by 5:00am, and I feel quite energized. Off to have breakfast with JT and I’ll be at the office by at the latest 7:30am.

I would be afraid to use earplugs. What if the fire alarm goes off in the middle of the night and I don’t hear it? Eeek!
