Haro’s Restaurant at Sidney Pier Hotel – #sidneyshowcase

Chocolate martini You may remember that recently I went on a short tour of the Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre. I stayed as a guest of the Sidney Pier Hotel. The Sidney Pier Hotel has a restaurant on site (Haro’s Restaurant) where they also invited me for dinner the night that I arrived. Haro’s is an upscale restaurant although the prices are definitely affordable and comparable to the kind of prices I would be paying in a good restaurant in Vancouver. The night I arrived (Thursday), the restaurant was packed. However, they had me booked already and I had a table reserved for me.

I started off with a mocha martini (trust me, you want to try this martini!) which didn’t go very well as far as flavor goes with my choice of starter. Salmon That was totally my fault, though, because I ordered scallops as a starter. My main course was wild BC salmon with quinoa
cakes & grilled vegetables. I was pretty impressed with Haro’s list of early bird dinner specials, very affordable at $ 16.00. The wild salmon was not only Ocean Wise approved but it was also incredibly well prepared. The quinoa cakes were interesting and very filling. Had I had enough room in my stomach, I would have gone directly to the desert (a fantastic creme brulee) but I didn’t really have the space.

Double creme brule

Haro’s Restaurant allows for 65 seats inside and 25 outside. For reservations at Haro’s you can call (250) 655-9700. I really would recommend it, whether you come here for a day trip (to Sidney) or you come to stay for a weekend or a week long event.

Oh that mocha martini sounds delightful. I’ll have to remember to check this place out next time I’m in BC
