Everyone who knows me knows that I’m an absolute adoring fan of Vancouver-born, Los Angeles-based actor Ryan Reynolds. I think he is a really great guy and a fantastic actor (particularly comic). I had the pleasure of watching his performance as Deadpool in the latest X-Men: Wolverine movie, and I can’t wait to see him become dual personalities Hal Jordan/Green Lantern! What do you think of this casting decision? I personally prefer this one to his wife (Scarlett Johansson) becoming The Black Widow (but in case you didn’t know, she’s been cast as Natasha Romanova, but I’m not 100% behind this decision).

Particularly torn, I’m liking the idea of Ryan being the Lantern, but which one will he be… If he’s going into Hal, then my vision of Hal would be a older character in his 40s or 50s, but if he’s playing a younger version that might be great…. Still hoping for John Barrowman to be cast as Captain America, that would make my day.

Hal was pretty young when he first got the ring, so I think RR could work in the role. and I can personally appreciate seeing him in spandex. :)

I hate seeing an actor play more than one hero, though. it’s just a bias I have. I have him in my head as Deadpool now – seeing him as GL would be kind of weird.

Scarlett as the Black Widow? This could work. As long as she doesn’t butcher the accent.

Ryan Reynolds is hot. And we all know that his body can get ridiculously buff. Great casting. But Scarlett in there? I vote no. I hate it when couples are cast together. Remember Eyes Wide Shut? Yeah… bad move.

British accent required? My vote goes to someone with an actual British accent.

@ S – no, Scarlett is going to be The Black Widow. Natasha Romanoff.

@ Melanie and AzureMoak – I would love to see when he gets the ring. Reynolds, FTW!
