Poor Zidane. Such a great player, now infamous for head-butting another soccer player. I sometimes wonder if people realize that his skills are far more relevant than the controversy, as indicated by the Wikipedia entry:

By scoring a 7th minute penalty in the final, Zidane became only the fourth player in World Cup history to score in two different finals, along with Pelé, Paul Breitner, and Vavá, in addition to being tied for first place with Vavá, Pelé and Geoff Hurst with three World Cup final goals apiece.

If you are a fan of soccer or just want to see Zidane, he will be playing on Sunday July 12th, at the Swangard Stadium in Burnaby, and the proceeds of this charity event will benefit UNICEF and other charities. I’ve scored 4 tickets that I want to give away to my readers, so drop a comment on this post and I’ll draw a winner tomorrow morning at 11:00am. Also, please state your preference for whether you’d be willing and able to go alone (that way, more people can attend this great game!). If you don’t win tickets you can always buy them online.

ok, seriously, I’d love to go. Even though I was not happy with Zidane’s World Cup exit but I guess we all live and learn. I’d love a pair of tix but also happy to go with one of your blog friends…
