Blogathon 2009 for BC Cancer Foundation (registration open)

As you may know, I’m doing Blogathon for the BC Cancer Foundation and dedicating it to my good friend Derek K. Miller (who has been battling cancer for 2.5 years already, and recently celebrated his 40th birthday!). Registration for Blogathon 2009 is open already, and I just found out that the BC Cancer Foundation has a blog and a Twitter account! I’m excited about that. I’m working with the staff at BCCF and setting up my donation page so you’ll be able to donate soon. I’ve also contacted a number of great bloggers who will provide me with guest posts so that I can in turn, help other bloggers as well (I type really fast, and I will stay awake throughout the Blogathon anyways). If you feel like staying up and writing 49 blog posts for charity, sign up here.

Setting up your donation page at BCCF? Are you not using the Blogathan.org donation page?

@ Beth – No, I can’t use the Blogathon.org donation page. I need to set up one for BCCF – the payments happen there.

Why can’t you use it?

I think I was like the 5th blog to register, I can’t wait to blog for Richmond Animal Protection Society. Good for you for doing good for the BCCF.

Beth, Blogathon requires any registered blogs to provide a link to a page where folks can donate to your cause… either a direct link to the charity’s own online donations page… or a page you set up to collect donations on behalf of.

People then can register with Blogathon, and click to Sponsor you, and then at the end of the 24 hours, sponsors will be asked to donate directly to the page link bloggers provided.
