LatinCouver launch party on June 6th, 2009
My friend Jose Uzcategui has been helping with the consolidation of a portal and community for the Latin American community in Vancouver (LatinCouver). From their Facebook page:
Latincouver is an organization that brings together Latin Americans and Latinophiles living in Vancouver to strengthen and celebrate the richness of our cultures. At the same time, we act as a much-needed bridge between Vancouver’s rapidly growing Latin American communities and other groups in the multicultural landscape of our city.
Recently I learned that their launch party takes place on June 6th, 2009. It should be a fantastic party. As someone who carries Latin American blood in his veins (and who loves to dance salsa, merengue, tango and rumba as well), I am a big supporter of anything that can promote Latin American community-building. Moreover, in the many years I’ve lived in Vancouver I have rarely connected with the latino community so I should start doing it now
More information on ticket sales and stuff can be found on their site. The event takes place at the Hellenic Community Centre (4500 Arbutus, close to 29th and Arbutus) and starts at 6:30pm. Tickets are $ 20 in advance and $ 25 at the door, and suggested dress code is white. Should be lots of fun!

Thanks for the support Raul!
Hopefully you’ll be able to attend the event. I think it’s time to relax, dance and shake those maracas!
For sure, you’re going to like the site.
Cheers!
