Happy Day of the Professor/Teacher/Instructor (May 15th)
While the actual day is celebrated on May 15th, I thought I’d explain a bit the relevance of this day. Shortly after celebrating Mother’s Day (May 10th), Mexicans celebrate the Day of the Professor. Since in Canada, professors are usually only university-level, I have grouped all different educators, and I want to congratulate:
- My parents, both of whom have been university professors many times. My Mom is still a professor, and she’s actually Dean of Social Sciences.
- My brothers, in particular A and R who have been university-level professors in the US (A is still a full-time, tenure-track professor while R is an adjunct professor).
- Many of my best friends, including my brother, some of my great friends in Mexico.
- And of course, myself!
