TweetDeck’s flaws – The “You’re now following So-and-So” issue

So, let me tell you a flaw that TweetDeck has (yes, I know that I’ve even given a seminar about TweetDeck and sung its praises). There are two big, major flaws (are you listening out there?)

1) When you add someone to any group, TweetDeck tells you “You are now following So-and-So”. Haven’t tested if they actually get the stupid DM or email “Raul is now following you on Twitter” but if that’s the case, my friends whom already I’m following are going to think “huh? wasn’t he following me before?” – I know – drama.

2) TweetDeck has NO way of recovering closed groups. I accidentally closed my “Focus” group and it’s going to take me hours to rebuild it. Why? Well, because I follow 400 people and I need to distribute those amongst the groups that I have. But I don’t have the kind of patience to add meticulously every person to each group I have assigned. So, now I have to add them on the fly when I see their tweets. And TweetDeck gives me the “you’re now following…” message. Which is stupid and annoying.

Someone needs to fix TweetDeck. And Twitter for all I care.
