It’s a glorious and sunny day out there

One day after Valentine’s Day (I know, a commercial day, but awesome nonetheless), I find myself at home, having already gone to church, done a bit of grocery shopping and heading out to do some writing, some work on a proposal and enjoy the sun, and to meet up with a group of friends as well at The Irish Heather. I just want to say that today I feel so incredibly well thanks to the sunny weather we are having. I love Vancouver when it’s sunny (yeah, 60 days out of 365 is not a lot of sun, but oh well). I made breakfast at home and now about to head out. Hoping you’re having a nice weekend!

Raul, you write about Vancouver sun: “60 days out of 365 is not a lot of sun.” I have not seen that stat. What I do see is the number of sunlight hours.

This is a rain forest, and the period from November to February can be fairly gloomy. The average sunlight hours/month are: 64, 56, 60, 85.

However, about Valentine’s Day the days are rapidly becoming longer and so are the number of sunlight hours.

The hours of sunlight for May to September are impressive: 231, 229, 295, 268, 199. The period from mid-July to the end of September is almost a drought and some years forest fires are a real concern.

Our summers are very sunny!
