Dine Out Vancouver 2009

Well, considering that my blog has a reputation for the restaurant reviews I do, and that somebody tagged me “Dr. Dine Out”, I figured that many people might be puzzled as to why I hadn’t yet posted anything about Dine Out Vancouver. See… the budget may not allow for many events, but given the broad range of affordable options, I might just have to cave and do at least one or two of them!

Vancouver’s delicious celebration of BC food and wine is back! Enjoy a three-course dinner at over 180 of Vancouver’s hottest restaurants for $18, $28 or $38* per person, complemented by fabulous BC VQA wine pairing suggestions.[Tourism Vancouver]

I’m probably going to do review posts, and stuff, but just on the $ 18 dollar range, a few personal favorites (please note that there are dozens of them, this is just a short list):
- Burgoo
- Ashiana Tandoori
- Chutney Villa
- Urban Thai Bistro

Reservations are recommended. I give big kudos to Tourism Vancouver for narrowing the database search engine by “Vegetarian”. My friends who are vegetarian thank you in advance!

So – do tell – do you plan to do Dine Out Vancouver and where were you thinking of going? I’m thinking of putting together a group with other local power food bloggers (Degan, Roland, Owen, Karen, to mention just a few). Do let me know if you’re interested too.

I already have reservations for Burgoo and The Boathouse. I’ll probably do at least one more but I am not sure which yet.

I’m heading out for dinners at Watermark and Raincity Grill. Looking forward to trying both out for the first time!

Let me know when you’re going to Burgoo, I’ve always wanted to go but never made it.

I went to the American Grille Restaurant at the Marriott Vancouver Airport and the Dine Out Menu was awesome, fantastic presentation and rich flavors. I was truly impressed with the service!

Coza Tuscan Grill in LANGLEY is the only restaurant in the valley to join in on this Vancouver Landmark promotion. Have you been?

I’m sticking to the higher end ones. I’ve found out the hard way that many of the $18 choices are actually cheaper if you just go there for a regular dinner, Burgoo and Urban Thai included.

My shortlist has been narrowed down to Parkside, Cassis, Plan B, Bacchus. Like you, I also made good use of the vegetarian search option in case my vegetarian sister-in-law wanted to join us for dinner.
