Happy Birthday, Rebecca Bollwitt :)

Last year (2008) I started to get more involved with the Vancouver tech/social media/PR/blogging community, in no small part due to my participation in the Bloggers Meetup (of which I am now the organizer). At the beginning of the year (and much longer than I anticipated, since I had been reading her blog for a long while by then, and we had both done Blogathon 2007), I met Rebecca Bollwitt (aka Miss604)

Lots of meetups, liveblogs, social events and lunches/time spent on a one-on-one basis, Rebecca and I have become good friends, and I am very grateful for her friendship and mentorship. As we said last year, I’ve been her blogging padawan for a while now, and I’ve learned a hell of a lot from her.

Rebecca is generous, sweet and a wonderful person, and in so many ways, her success is definitely a sign of the fact that positive things happen to positive people. She’s worked really hard to establish herself in the social media world and the hard work has paid off, in my opinion. Rebecca launched her company (sixty4media) with her husband John in 2008 and has done extremely well.

Happy birthday, Rebecca! May 2009 bring you lots of success, happiness, health and love.
