The Golden Globe 2009 nominations are in!
I was going to tweet about this but I thought it’s better to do it in a blog post format. Plus, I really have more than one thing to say. Bullet point form, though.
- Apparently, many of my friends hated “Rachel Getting Married” but critics seem to have loved Anne Hathaway enough to give her a nomination.
- Absolutely happy about James Franco getting a nod for Best Actor in a Comedy.
- Not surprised about Meryl Streep nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role both in Comedy and Drama. Hope she wins. After Julie Christie’s loss to Marion Cotillard for the Oscar 2008, I was disappointed. I hope Streep wins this year.
- Kristin Scott Thomas (who is English) wins a nod for “I Loved You So Long” (a film entirely in French). I love it when an Anglo-Saxon speaks fluently enough to star in a movie in an entirely different language.
- Neil Patrick Harris is nominated too!

I can understand people not liking “Rachel Getting Married” but hating it? Wow. It is not an easy, happy-go-lucky sort of film (actually, neither is “Happy-Go-Lucky”) but it’s definitely worthy of all the love – even if I didn’t love it as much as others.
goooo doogie!!
Anne Hathaway is hot
Marion cotillard gave the BETTER performance of the history of the Cinema!!! Julie Christie was good, but we can’t denied that no actress deserves more the oscar than Marion Cotillard in La Vie En Rose!
