Get-away to Victoria (even if only for one day)

I’ve been seriously thinking of heading to Victoria for a quick getaway, as part of my holidays. It is very rare that I spend parts of my December holidays alone, usually I am ALWAYS around family. But this year-end seems to be the perfect time to have a get-away, and one of the cities I love the most is Victoria.

Given that I now know (thanks to the magic of Twitter) a LOT more people in Victoria (or Vancouver Island, for that matter) than I used to do, I might organize a Tweetup or just hang out with a few tweeps over there. The family of my former partner lives in North Saanich, but that’s just literally out of Swartz Bay and I don’t necessarily have to spend any time in Saanich.

Besides, being in Victoria might give me an incentive to do some research on the wastewater treament plant plans. You know, because even holidays can be opportunities for field research :)

Happy New Year!
I hope that Victoria doesn’t break any snow record while you’re there.
