North Shore Rescue – Please donate/contribute
Recently, I have learned of the awesome job of North Shore Rescue. From their website:
North Shore Rescue (NSR) is a Mountain Search and Rescue Team based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The team consists of approximately 40 volunteers skilled in search and rescue operations in mountain, canyon and urban settings. The team provides search and rescue services to:
* Provincial Emergency Program (PEP)
* RCMP and municipal police services
* Municipal fire services
* BC Ambulance Service
* Other SAR teams in BC and Washington
* Local and regional governments during civil emergencies
While I don’t ski, lots of British Columbians do, and therefore, they may require the services of North Shore Rescue in the future at some point. They recently rescued 3 skiers (you can read the story here). As an entirely volunteer organization, they rely on donations, so why don’t u consider donating to their cause? Thank you.

Great organization that provides excellent services.
In case you’re wondering… the couple that got rescued are former Varsity Outdoor Club members. All the articles on the web don’t seem to point out that they have lots backcountry experience and know the area relatively well. The articles seemed to focus on the fact that they were “wondering” in the backcountry cluelessly like couple headless chickens.
Thanks for posting…I’ve had friends who’ve needed the vital services of North Shore Rescue and I am always so grateful to them. Happy New Year!
