In a world of uncertainty…

The last time I was involved in a romantic relationship, my ex-partner told me that “in a world of uncertainty, the only certain thing was my love” and I found that incredibly sweet and thoughtful. It is, undoubtedly, one of the highest praises I’ve ever received. It’s also incredibly challenging to always be someone else’s anchor.

There’s uncertainty in markets. There’s uncertainty in relationships. There’s uncertainty in project outcomes. But how do we deal with uncertainty? What to do to reduce the degree to which we feel unable to predict events? Just a thought.

Only way to deal with uncertainty is to be prepared to adapt to whatever circumstances arrive. That is my motto.

and there’s uncertainty in our finances. We get “sold” this promise of financial security. Nothing is secure. Part of maturity, I think, is reconciling ourselves to uncertainty in our circumstances, and deepening our certainty in our values and principles.
