World Environment Day 2008

Deep Cove brunch

You can tell when I am 100% swamped by my blog or my behavior on Twitter/MSN/GTalk: I simply don’t participate/write! This week has been busy due to my participation in Congress, writing a paper that I am co-authoring, and giving two talks. Thus, I had almost completely forgotten about today’s event: World Environment Day. While not as famous as Earth Day (I am not sure why), today marks the celebrations of all things environment. Originated by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), this day serves as a reminder that we still need to do more on issues of climate change, water scarcity, desertification and deforestation, global pollution, to name but just a few. Happy belated World Environment Day!
