Completely inane post, don’t read it…
… ok, you opened it… so here it goes. I am currently writing a paper. As you can imagine, my progress hasn’t been all that awesome but I’m getting to the point where I just need to get it out of my hair, so I’m actually trying to buckle down and focus so that I can finish the paper and submit it to a journal. I have MSN, GMail Chat and Thwirl open. You can imagine why I am not making much progress
hehehe. So I complain with my friend PT that I have been on Twitter for 20 minutes without any updates. Nobody seems to be posting anything there. And I’m horribly bored with the paper.
The truth is, I *am* impatient. I’ve always been. Hence why I am nicknamed “hummingbird“. If I were patient, I wouldn’t type between 70 and 105 words per minute (105 on a REALLY good day), I wouldn’t speak as fast as I do, I wouldn’t have the social and work life I have. I love the adrenaline rush! And I love always living to the fullest, going as fast and as steady as I can. I understand that this may lead to (as it has happened before) burnout.
How to avoid being burned out *and* being bored at the same time? I know, I realize that I should just focus and turn everything off, but I feel a bit isolated when I work at home. And with my laptop near death, my mobility is seriously trumped. Argh. Ok, sorry for wasting 3 minutes of your time, but I needed to get that off of my chest
