Darren shared the website of SuperUseless SuperPowers on his blog (although neither him nor I remember who shared the actual link to the site – I do remember having seen it on Twitter too) and I got a real chuckle out of it. What I found extremely interesting is that commenters were trying really hard to justify the super-useless super power (hence, rendering it actually useful). See for example the justifications for the super-power of lukewarm touch.

The super power is:

Lukewarm Touch.
An estranged 3rd cousin of the Midas Touch, the Lukewarm Touch allows its hero to touch any temperature liquid and turn it to room temperature. Perhaps somewhat useful if captured by cannabalistic pygmies.

But even funnier are the justifications for the super power (commentaries)

If you’re a parent that has to deal with reheating formula/breastmilk, this super power would actually be killer.

I’ll admit… if I had a superuseless superpower, I’d certainly appreciate feedback on how to make it actually useful!

I use Twitter both as a tool to interact with my friends as well as a tool to reach out to a broader public. I’ve programmed TwitterFeed to publish my posts (I can’t use WordTwit because I’m not self-hosted yet). Usually I make a concerted effort to write funny tweets, because honestly, I really appreciate reading one, but I’m not always as witty as some of my readers and follows.

I uploaded some funny tweets (you can check my Favorites on Twitter) on my Flickr account, so this is only a sample. A recent really funny one that Lorraine (aka Raincoaster) published recently was this:

raincoaster Web 2.0 Shirley Manson says: Stupid Twhirl! about 7 hours ago from web

I figured that we could start a thread of witty tweets for singers and songs and Web 2.0 (like Lorraine did here), but I’m not witty enough. Any ideas?
