Celebrating a decade of same-sex marriage in Canada
There are many, many reasons why I love Canada. Its progressive attitude towards same-sex marriage is one of them. Today we celebrate a decade of one of the most important wins in the field of human rights: the right to express love regardless of sexual orientation in the form of a marriage. I’m thrilled Canada is already celebrating this decade, and can’t wait until the United States of America and many other countries follow suit. Even Mexico City has recognized same-sex marriages, a staunchingly conservative Catholic country! Time to move forward with our societal understanding of what love means.
Congratulations, Canadian-married (aka on Canadian soil) queer folks, and kudos to you progressive Canadians!
