Hi Raul,
I am still looking for signs of Canadian-ness. Yesterday, I headed to the Memorial service with my camera in an attempt to capture some Canadians souls. We - my husband and I - lost two vetereans in our family this year and it was really hard to hold the tears back during the ceremony.
I tried to convey the experience of my first memorial service in Vancouver on my blog, but I think that it will take me a while before I understand some rituals as a real Canadian.
Take Care,
V

Good post. Both of my great grandpas fought in the world war. We are so blessed that so many brave people were, and still are, willing to lay down their lives so that we can enjoy the freedoms that we do today. We must never forget.

In the United States, Veterans' Day has long stopped being about the armistice and now simply reflects respect for all military members, past and present.
