I also recommend quickly doing as many jobs/tasks as you can, that you have put off for some time. I usually do that for New Years, and it's way better than trying to do a NY resolution. It's good feng sui: it gives you more energy to do other things. I have no idea why. I just had an old home movie transferred to DVD last week (which I have been meaning to do for the last 10 years), and it gave me such a lift. Next put off task, getting my carpet cleaned... Indeed.
