Movember’s Vancouver Twitter team

Several good friends of mine, including Jordan Behan (editor’s note – Jordan, so sorry I neglected you on the first round of this post, love you lots!), Mike Browne (fully supported by his lovely wife Carol Browne), Ben Johnson (not the runner, the do-gooder), Chris Mathieson, Gus Fosarolli, Michael Allison, Bradley Cooper (no, not the actor, the winemaker), Shawn Price and several others, are doing Movember. I am personally not fond of the mustache (firstly, because I’m so incredibly non-hairy that any attempt to a ‘mo will make me look ridiculous – and secondly, because I’m not one for scruffy kisses). But I’m a big supporter of Vancouver’s Twi’stache team, so you can donate to the whole team here, and if you click on any individual page, you can donate to any of the team’s members. Please support this noble cause!

Learn more about Movember from Canada’s Movember Foundation:

The Movember Foundation is a global not-for-profit charitable organization which runs the men’s health initiative, Movember.

The Mo (slang for moustache) and Movember, the eleventh month of the year (formerly known as November), come together each year to create the world’s largest movement for men’s health – bringing much needed awareness and funding to men’s health, specifically prostate cancer

Thanks for the support Raul!

After all we’ve been through, to NOT be counted among your friends, makes me sad :(

RaulOctober 29th, 2009 at 2:11 pm

Jordan – you are ALWAYS counted amongst my friends :) Also, please DO note that not only did I correct my omission, I put you in the very first place in the list :)

JordanOctober 29th, 2009 at 2:16 pm

Haha. I was only kidding. Or…it was clever move on my art to get even more Twitter coverage for the team’s fundraising. w00t!

(btw, you think you have a hard time growing a moustache, you just wait. By week 2, I hope to have darkened my lip by 20%)

YAY for MOs!! Matt’s participating here in NZ – not sure I’m happy about living with the Mo for a month, but at least it’s for a good cause!

ChrisOctober 29th, 2009 at 3:54 pm

Thanks for spreading the word, Raul! We’ll get rid of ‘em at the end of the month, we promise. ;)

VancityAllieOctober 29th, 2009 at 4:40 pm

Hahaha yay for Movember! Every November I find it absolutely hilarious to see people walking around with bushy moustaches… although most people just grow a beard and shave it for the photo day ;)

RaulOctober 30th, 2009 at 8:22 am

@ Dayna – as I said, I’m not one for scruffy kisses. EEEWW.

@ Allie – I know, funny :)

@ Chris, Jordan, Dane, etc… I hope this month goes fast… ooops did I just say that ;)

[...] Raul Pacheco has also compiled a list of participants here [...]

Don’t worry Raul, I will grow enough hair for the both of us! I just put a new youtube video up. I’ll be tracking my Mo for all my faithful donors.

Hey Raul!

Some of the guys over here at BuildDirect are also growing dubious facial hair for the cause. I’m wimping out this year though!

For interested parties, the team (Eenie, Meenie, Miney, MO) is throwing a fund-raising pub night at the St. Regis Bar & Grill (608 Dunsmuir). Check out the BD Facebook event page for details.

Thanks for the post!

Much to my chagrin, Chris LeMay is also growing a mustache. It is (frighteningly) coming in very well. Thanks for the blog post about Movember! Despite of the creepy factor, it’s a great cause. :)

@ Monica – Um. I don’t know if I want to see that ;)

@ Allie – it’s fun eh?

@ Rob – Cool, will see if I can make it.

@ Michael – I have known you so clean cut that it’s going to be funny to see you with facial hair.
