@ Sarah - I just hold on to the smile until they are convinced that it is genuine and then they smile back... :D  Honest to God, it was an experiment. I was walking on Kingsway towards Broadway and I kept smiling at this woman who was frowning as she was walking towards me. I held on to my smile for a solid 45 seconds. When she saw that it was a genuine smile, then she smiled back. I&#039;ve just kept using the same strategy. Usually I go from a smirk to a full fledged smile within 10 seconds and that usually pushes them to smile back :)</description>

		<description>I am one of those people who constantly complains that Vancouver is cold and unfriendly. My question is, do people smile back at you or do they look at you like you&#039;re weird? I used to smile at random people but I found I wasn&#039;t getting anything back so I stopped doing it.</description>
