I was walking on Kingsway towards Broadway and I kept smiling at this woman who was frowning as she was walking towards me. I held on to my smile for a solid 45 seconds. When she saw that it was a genuine smile, then she smiled back. I've just kept using the same strategy. Usually I go from a smirk to a full fledged smile within 10 seconds and that usually pushes them to smile back :) @ Jennifer – Thanks!

My question is, do people smile back at you or do they look at you like you're weird? I used to smile at random people but I found I wasn't getting anything back so I stopped doing it.
